Our client was moving into a new home after a long search for somewhere she loved. She finally found a beautiful 4-bed house, with a gorgeous garden and big, open plan kitchen, tucked away next to some woodland at the edge of East Horsley. Great for taking the dogs for long walks and for parties in the garden in the summer.
With little work to do to the house, the house was ready to move into and our client wanted to settle in and start enjoying the house. She knew that, without help, it would take her a long time to get everything unpacked and wanted feel at home quickly. Having spent so long finding the right house, she also wanted to make sure that it was set up well, right from the start. No shoving things in cupboards to deal with later – this home was going to be organised from the outset.
We had a couple of sessions with our client before she moved to edit her previous home. She had a room in the eaves that had become the de facto storage space, with lots of things she hadn’t sorted through in years. On top of that, she’d also previously had a leak which had caused a mould problem in the house. The leak had been fixed and the mould treated, but she wanted to go through everything before moving it to the new house, to make sure nothing damaged was coming with her.
During one of our editing sessions, we took a little time out to visit the new house, which was just a short drive away. This gave us the chance to see the new space and start planning how her things could be organised in the new layout.
The kitchen and dressing room were the areas we were going to be focussing on. These rooms had heaps of storage which gave us lots of options to consider, but we knew we’d need a few organising products to make the spaces work optimally and to make them look as fabulous on the inside as they did on the outside.
The final move date was delayed, as it so often is, but we worked around this to get a team to the new house as soon as possible. We brought all of the organising products we would need and tackled the kitchen, with bar and pantry area, as well as the dressing room, with an amazing span of cupboards and central island of drawers.
Two organisers worked for two days to unpack and get the rooms looking beautiful with carefully chosen organising products to maximise the space and create a really functional layout.
When we’d finished, the client decided she wanted a little extra help, so we came back to unpack some of the rest of the house – sorting out some of those tricky storage areas – leaving her box-free and ready to enjoy her home.
“Realising I desperately needed help with unpacking and organising after the move into the new house I also opted for significant help with that too. For three days I had five people in total help unbox, sort and put away a huge amount of my belongings. I could never have achieved what they did, to have dealt with so many items and come up with logical and neat storage was such an enormous help…I felt a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. This was worth every penny and more.”
